I empower people and brands to put more good into the world by tuning their energy to a more positive frequency. When we clean up our energy, we are open to solutions that benefit others and create more abundance. I work with individuals to uncover obstacles and limiting beliefs that hold them back. I teach them how to clean up their energy through mindfulness and meditation practices so they can feel good, be more present, move forward freely and confidently.
I’m a writer, on-camera personality and social media brand consultant who has morphed into a motivational speaker and life-coach. My passion for style, skin care, grooming and what I like to call self-care (exercise, meditation and mindfulness shifted my path in life from the corporate world to the metaphysical world. In 2010 I began dabbling in self-help when my life wasn’t in a good place. I fell in love with it because I saw positive results almost instantly. I began meditating, manifesting and clearing blocks that kept me stuck. My energy was more positive and my life got bigger. I wanted to share this with people, so I got formal training in mindfulness-based stress reduction, meditation, motivational speaking and life-coaching. From there, I started The World of Doug and have made it my mission to help people.

Wine is my profession and my passion.
It was whilst at Hotel School in Johannesburg that I was seduced by ‘the art of the grape’.
Working as a chef in London and South Africa,
I sniffed, swirled and sipped my way through the Cape Wine Academy and fatefully found myself employed as Wine Public Relations Officer at DGB, South Africa’s largest independent wine and spirit producer.
It did not take long to lose myself to their globally successful wine brands including Bellingham,
Douglas Green and Boschendal that I had the privilege of writing about, pouring and presenting as
Group Communications Manager for local and International markets.
Sharing the stories, living the legends and experiencing the good gifts of our unique Cape terroir affected endless intrigue and inspired my Cape Wine Master Qualification in 2004.
But it was the Yellow Widow, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin that captured my imagination and stole my heart, making me a confirmed champagne fanatic both professionally and privately. After a happy
decade as Public Relations Officer and then Brand Manager for Veuve Clicquot and Krug champagne
in South Africa, I joined the LVMH team as Trade Marketing Manager.
Building Moёt & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Dom Perignon, Krug, Ruinart Champagnes as well as
Hennessy Cognac, Glenmorangie Malts and Belvedere Vodka brands in the on and off trade as well as consumer relationship management exposure propelled me into the upper echelons of luxury marketing, providing invaluable experience and networking opportunities.
Yet all the while, lurking in my deepest conscious is my patriotic palate and calling to advocate the unique and exceptional qualities that wines from South Africa have to offer. This ambition opened the exciting door to independence and HeidiVine Communications.
My unabated mission is to bring wine and spirits to life through words, education, tasting, marketing and special events.
I continue to lecture at The Cape Wine Academy and regularly serve as a judge on competition panels including Veritas, Old Mutual Trophy and Classic Wine Magazine, as well as feature writing for various magazines and online media.
